Short after leaving Barcelona's airport with your rental car heading to the city you will get the opportunity to see the various art niveau buildings and facades.

If you do not want to leave Barcelona, you may want to drive down the new Barcelona palm beach in your hire car. On your way back, have a rest in a bar or restaurant at the aspiring neighbourhood El Raval.
You will have a great view over Barcelona and the harbour if you go up by car to the mountain Montjüic in Barcelona's Southwest. There is also the citadel which may be of historical interest to you.
While travelling by car in the Eixample district, you will discover many villas and small palaces which were built by wealthy Catalans. It is very characteristic for its urban style.
