German beer festival in Calpe: Zicke zacke, zicke zacke...

Another year (and with this one it makes 20 years), Calpe receives a new edition of the Oktoberfest, or, in other words, the German beer festival (as it is also known).
From the 4th to 14th October 2007, all those who are beer fans can quench your thirst with around 300 barrels of beer that have been imported from Munich again. You can allow tickle your taste buds with the delicious German sausage or the various roast meats the Oktoberfest provides.
To house such an event, the Club Carnival Calpe has organized the "Recinto de Ferias y Fiestas" (located near the municipal car pound on the outskirts of the town) with a tent measuring more than 15.000 square meters. It is estimated to receive during the 10 days these festivities last around 20.000 people.
Remember that if you drive until the facilities with your own car, you have a free parking area beside the tent. But, if you prefer not to drive, there is a small tourist train (from the Commercial Centre Plaza Central in Calpe) totally free that will take anyone who wishes to do so, to the Oktoberfest tent (go and back).
